Roma, Cinque Terra, Venice, Genoa - such an incredible country. Campo di Fiori, free tours of the ruins at Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus, the Coliseum, gelati, the Pantheon, Vatican, St. Peter's Cathedral, Michealangelo's Sistine Chapel, Last Judgment, old dead creepy pope in a glass case, unknown fruits, pub crawl, jazz, late night swims, great hikes, lots of cats, Venitian glass, Peggy Guggenheim Museum, - quite memorable.
The Arc de Constantine in Rome - them Romans loved to show off their victories back in the B.C. eras
Enjoying a Peroni beverage after increasing our luck by tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain
A walk in Cinque Terra - an incredibly beautiful coastal track that led us through the five little towns tucked away in their respective place on the rocky coastline in Northern Italy. Terraced hills and vineyards sloping steeply down to the sea, we picked oranges and cherries on our walk and met some really nice people.
Levanto - one of the last towns in Cinque Terra - we spent multiple nights here enjoying the beach, free fruit, and hospitable accommodations
This B&B in the town of Levanto had the best spread for breakfast in all of Europe. Cereal, yogurt, bread, jelly, tea, oatmeal, muffins, etc - the best part was that other people's baskets were full as well - I ate very well.
Leigh is fixing us up some lunch on the porch of our B&B in Levanto
A rest by the "streets" of Venice was essential after eating too much Gelato
Breaking the law - the sign says "No standing" in a few languages
No trip to Italy would be complete without a visit in Genoa to the Aquarium's 3D show |
